Long Island Wedding Photographers, Happy Films
Nurani and Mehboob
Since we started covering traditional weddings at Happy Films, we never thought of stopping. We dedicate our time to producing photos and videos representing the cultural background of our clients.
At Nurani and Mehboob’s wedding in Long Island, we’re proud to say we delivered once again. How can we resist the lovely couple? They’re such a pleasure to work with.
Wedding Day Celebration
Nurani and Mehboob’s wedding celebration was a two-day event. Day 1 was the Mehndi; and Day 2 included the First Look, Nikah, and Reception.
Mehndi was a beautiful kick-off for the series of celebrations. Its symbolic and traditional significance depicts the deep love between the couple. It also marks the strong bonds between their families.
During this event, the Mendhi artist applied henna on the bride’s hand. The henna was intricate and believed to bring luck to the wedding. No wonder that Day 2 had no bump in the road. It’s all about joy and love.
Bride and Groom First Look at New York Public Library
The couple's first look was at the New York Public Library in Manhattan, New York. Then they celebrated the occasion at the World Fair Marina in Queens, NY.
The iconic Beaux-Arts-styled New York Public Library provides a magnificent backdrop for the couple’s first look. The subtle color of the grand entrance and marble staircases make the bride's traditional costume stand out.
With the ornate details, symbolic carvings, and sculpture, there’s always a perfect spot for a romantic wedding first look.
We can talk more about the iconic building, but we know you want us to describe our shot list.
At Happy Films, as a Long Island Wedding photographers, our priority is to capture the couple's emotions. We let them enjoy the moment to get the candid shot we need. We don’t want your photos to look like it's directed. Our goal is to make the images genuine by unfolding the emotions naturally.
Of course, we don’t forget the minor details. We understand a bride takes time to pick her wedding dress and accessories. So we capture it because it deserves a spot on your photo album.
Nikah: Nurani and Mehboob are Officially Married
Everyone was happy when the couple finally completed the Nikah, which is a sacred and solemn contract between the couple.
This wedding ceremony is important in many ways, not only because of the lawful relationship established but also the spiritual aspect. Islam believes Allah blesses the marriage when Nikah is performed.
It involved several steps, so we had our list ready to make sure we captured everything.
Bride and Groom First Dance at the Reception
The declaration of love and commitment in a Sindhi wedding is expressed in different rituals.
And we felt that during the wedding dance.
Even though the two-day ceremony was about to end, the couple’s first dance was a moment we couldn’t forget. It was an energetic dance with lots of spinning and jumping. Yet, we’ve witnessed the connection between the two as they dance. We knew that the couple enjoyed themselves.
The groom was wearing a suit, and the bride was wearing a yellow embellished lehenga choli. The bride’s wedding dress symbolizes cultural and traditional heritage.
We can say that the celebration is a memorable wedding photography Long Island project we made.
Reception Venue: World Fair Marina, Queens, NY
World Fair Marina is a client’s favorite because of its spacious floor area. It can host up to 1,000 guests, which makes it a popular location for weddings.
It offers a panoramic view of the bay, while the floor-to-ceiling windows allow guests to see the Manhattan skyline. The interior design features neutral colors that work as a clean slate for intricate and colorful Indian-influenced wedding decorations.
