Christian Wedding at Weylin (Brooklyn, NYC’s Gem)
We were not surprised when Berline and Samuel told us we were shooting the wedding at Weylin. Everyone knows Weylin, everybody loves Weylin.
It's the old Williamsburgh Savings Bank, which has turned into a beautifully restored wedding venue. It offers a classic charm that brings you back to the old New York vibe.
We have so much to say about the venue, but we’ll talk about it later.
For now, let us share with you about Berline and Samuel’s wedding, which our photography service is for.
A Happy Wedding Day
The video we delivered to the couple focused on two things – feel-good and heartfelt.
We used Snoh Aalegra’s song to give an old-school R&B with a soulful touch of music. We opt for this genre instead of a melodramatic one because we wanted to highlight the messages instead of the music.
We complemented it with b-rolls to add authenticity to the video. We wanted the audience to see the entourage united in loving the couple.
From the vows to the messages of their loved ones, you can feel the overflowing love, which makes them “A Happy Couple.”
But of course, we didn’t skip the wedding tradition, including the candle and the wedding ring. It was necessary to add it to remind the couple of what they promised and how they felt during the wedding.
We believe a wedding video is not just a visual media intended for archiving. For us, it’s a tool to relive the vows.
The storyboard for this video is different from our previous work.
In the past, wedding messages were shared in the latter part as we showed the reception footage. But this time, we moved the vows and messages to the first part.
As the music transitions to Biggy Smalls’ Juicy, all you can see on the video are the guests partying in the reception.
After the wedding ceremony, they celebrated at the 1875 Bar.
The small venue offers an intimate but cozy ambiance. Guests interact with each other, which adds a happy vibe.
As you can see in the video, the guests were able to chat as they watched what was happening on the stage. It’s a wedding reception and after-party on one occasion.
Weylin: New York’s Wedding Venue
Weylin is a favorite venue for couples and photographers. It offers a vintage charm that complements a classic yet modern wedding outfit. It has indoor and outdoor spaces that give us a variety of backdrops we can choose from.
Our clients made a wise decision choosing Weylin because we don’t need to change location.
We love Weylin because it has a space for load-in. We’re able to set up our equipment and prepare the shooting area. It helps our job easier.
The Weylin wedding package offers a space for grand weddings and intimate gatherings.
It’s a versatile venue because you can use your design to complement the architecture. It’s a perfect event space, so it’s better to dress nicely when you receive an invitation.
Highly Recommended Wedding Venue in Brooklyn
This majestic venue has a combination of metal and marble work. It’s a Beaux-Arts architecture with a large and long interior that adds to the extravagance of the place.
As you explore it, you’ll find mosaics and wooden carvings. It sends you back to when the working class people in the 1870s visited the bank and processed their transactions.
The nostalgic feeling towards the old bank building was achieved because the integrity of the space stayed intact.
But what’s more interesting about this venue is its ground level. When it was operational, it served as the bank’s vault. It also has two domes making it aesthetically unique in the modern New York landscape.
As you walk inside, you know it's more than a classic style. It was sophisticated and well-thought when it was first structured. The restrooms have water flushers, detailed door hinges, and an intercom.
A Bit of Weylin's History
Weylin was restored for three years after a group of Brooklyn entrepreneurs purchased it in 2010. They converted the 135-year-old building into a five-star event place.
The name came from Weylin B. Seymour, known as a party host and matchmaker.
Architect George B. Post built Williamsburgh Savings Bank inspired by French Classical Revival Style, while Artisan Peter B. Wight was responsible for the interior and the dome.
You can also see a mural decoration by Wight in the dome's vaulted ceiling.
