Liz and JJ’s Wedding by Jewish Wedding Videographer

Couple: Liz and JJ

Elizabeth and JJ’s wedding in the heart of Philadelphia was full of fun. We’re happy to witness the Jewish marriage tradition reminding us that each culture deserves a spotlight.

As a Jewish wedding videographers, we capture the rituals performed during the occasion. The photos and videos tell stories that the couple will cherish in their married life.

Getting Ready at Hilton Philadelphia

Their wedding day started with them getting ready at Hilton Hotel in Philadelphia.  Despite being a busy area, it’s a nice clean hotel. The staff was accommodating, letting the couple feel special. You can request to book a block of rooms for the entourage if that’s what you need.

The couple had their first look at the shore. We simply can’t get enough of the heartfelt and genuine emotions flowing from their hearts.

Elizabeth surprised JJ the first time he saw her with the stunning gown. He's lost for words. At that moment, you instantly know how much he loved her. It’s good to see the couple with such smiling faces. You know they’re excited to get wed.

Of course, they need a quiet moment together with a short walk. We take a shot from afar to give them privacy. It worked. That long shot highlighted the intimacy as the couple took their moment together. A memory they won’t forget.

After their first look, they traveled to various locations in adorable vintage trolleys including Merchant’s Exchange, Carpenter’s Hall, and Washington square in the heart of Philadelphia. They took their Bridal Party and portraits with different picturesque of the city backdrops.

At Happy Films, we love capturing candid shots. At Elizabeth and JJ’s wedding, we have some of our favorites, including photos of the bride and her bridesmaids.

We asked them to chat as we took their photos. They nailed it. It looks authentic. You know right away that the bridesmaids are the good people Elizabeth trusted.

The couple decided on the National Museum of American Jewish History as their wedding ceremony venue. It’s a great place to get married, as it has superb acoustics that you won’t miss every single word said, especially the exchange of vows.

Ketubah Signing at National Museum of American Jewish History

After getting to the museum for their wedding ceremony, they first celebrated their Ketubah signings with witnesses and the wishes of their close ones. A Ketubah is a Jewish wedding contract signed and validated before the wedding. A rabbi or cantor is present in this important ritual before the wedding. In tradition, the couple displays the Ketubah in their new home.

At Happy Films, we love a close-up shot of parents walking the bride down the aisle. It hits our hearts every time we capture a glance of a father while trying to hold his feelings inside. It must be a roller coaster of emotions for the loving dad.

Did you see Elizabeth’s mom’s reaction? Who would miss that big smile from a lovely mother?

Jewish Wedding Videography Under the Chuppah

The procession ended under the chuppah. It’s a symbol of the couple’s new home they are building together. It’s a four-corner canopy made of a prayer shawl owned by a member of the couple or their families.

The couple exchanged their wedding vows under the chuppah and rejoiced in the Jewish wedding tradition by breaking the glass. The groom stepped on the glass inside a cloth to shatter it.

The tradition shows two meanings – the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem or a representation of the couple’s commitment to stand by one another even in hard times.

After the ritual, the couple collected the fabric containing the glass fragments. As Jewish wedding videographers, we take utmost care to capture the moments during the ceremony.

Fun-filled Jewish Wedding Reception

The reception was also held at the National Museum of American Jewish History where they introduced themselves with their favorite track ‘Marry You’ by Bruno Mars followed by their first dance.

Elizabeth honored her father through a father-daughter dance. You can feel the warmth of love as they hug each other. They take time to spend the moment together.

They also did a great job personalizing their ceremony with little details where the Maid of Honor and Best Men gave a toast. As a Jewish wedding videographers, we couldn’t help but make the part of the highlight of the wedding.

Fun-filled Jewish Wedding Reception

With the same energy as the dance by the band, it was time for Hora. It's a traditional dance performed at Jewish weddings. Everyone loves the Hora. The all-out party allows the guests to lift each couple while they sit on a chair.

Congratulations to Liz and JJ, and a special thanks to them for sharing this lovely wedding with Happy Films.

We are so inspired to share the final output of the special day.
